Fall 2023
Welcome Fall!
Spring cleaning is really common but I always find myself cleaning and sprucing up my house this time of year. Some might say I do this because the holidays are around the corner but I do it because I know we are about to settle into our home for winter. Less time outdoors means more time to cuddle indoors and I don’t want to feel cluttered in my space. So I apply a new coat of paint on my walls and pass on the books that I have finished over summer. I switch out the kids’ drawers to make room for the new clothes of winter and donate the things that no longer fit.
Sometimes it is not just clothes that no longer fit. Sometimes it is people or relationships or even living spaces. Sometimes fall with its vivid colors reminds us to take a chance and try to improve the color of our lives by trying something new like a cooking class or Pickle ball.
I take some time in the Autumn season to do a little clearing of my body too.
Every year I choose this time to do a little cleanse. I use supplements to support my detox pathways and clear things out to make room for me to nourish myself through the hectic holiday season. My favorite ones this year can be found in my Fall protocol on Fullscript.
I also focus on including my 5 cups of vegetables and fruits as well as good water intake to help things move smoothly through my system. Recommended water intake is about half your body weight in ounces of water so 80 ounces of water for a person who weighs 160 pounds. Adding some electrolytes like coconut water can help boost absorption.
Sleep is extra important now as the days get shorter so I am more vigilant about putting my phone away an hour before sleep time. I just learned how to crochet so I am trying my hands at that instead.
I hope you find a way to let go of anything that has been bogging you down this Fall season and open yourself up to get ready for the wonder of winter.
